We're thrilled that you've signed up to use Spondyr... thank you!
We know most of you won't enjoy reading through obscure legal terminology, but it is important that you understand some of the details behind the services we provide. We've summarized the most important terms so you can quickly review them. We're guessing most of you still won't read even the short version, but hey, at least we tried!
If you love reading long, convoluted sentences or hail from the legal department, please review our official Terms of Servicea>. These form a legally binding contract between you and Spondyr.
For those of you who just want the basics, continue reading. We promise it won't take long and we'll throw in a few laughs along the way!
As a correspondence delivery service, we are well aware of the potential for users to abuse our service by sending out spam or inappropriate content. We reserve the right to immediately terminate your account if used for these purposes. We have no tolerence for spammers, harrassment, hate speech, or copyright violations!
If we are sued because of something your business did using Spondyr, you are ultimately responsible for any claims and costs incurred.
We currently provide a free "Developer" plan for personal use. We also charge very reasonable prices for our paid plans. If we determine that a user has created multiple accounts for the sole purpose of avoiding payment, we will be very angry with you. We'll probably contact you. And then terminate your account(s) if you don't have a good explanation. We may even send Alvin to pay you a visit, and trust us, no one wants to see Alvin at their door!
PS. If we terminate your account, don't try to create another one without our permission.
We do our best to design subscription plans that provide good value for the money you spend on Spondyr. If future conditions dictate that we adjust the parameters or pricing of the plans we provide, we will attempt to preserve plans and pricing for existing customers as long as they stay on their current plan. It's the right thing to do!
However, please note that if you upgrade or downgrade plans, any new plan limitations and pricing will be applied.
We collect your first name, last name, email address, and timezone. These are all captured during the registration process and are used to identify you as a user and provide a more friendly/customized experience (by referring to you by your name and displaying dates/times in your local timezone).
If you do purchase a subscription or add funds to your delivery balance, for each transaction, we also collect:
- The credit card type used (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) to make it easier for you to know which card you used previously
- The last 4 digits of the credit card also to make it easier for you to know which card they used previously
- The credit card's expiration date so we Can send the notices that your card is expiring soon and needs to be updated
- The amount of the transaction
- The status of the transaction
We never store your actual credit card number, CVV, or postal code. Our credit cards service provider (Braintree) manages that process.
We do not share any of this information with anyone else.
It's super important that you send us good delivery addresses! We deliver all correspondence to recipients using the delivery information you provide us.
In other words:
We're a PaaS API and we know that uptime is important to you. Our goal is to provide at least 99.9% uptime because no one likes troubleshooting application issues at 2am during Christmas. We'd love to provide even more "9's" for you, but since we're built on cloud providers and API's that only guarantee 99.9% to us we're kind of stuck.
Check out our Status Page if you want to see our uptime performance-to-date. We're kind of proud of it.
We've got lots of cool upgrades and sometimes even a few bug fixes we need to roll out. We use 11pm Saturday - 4am Sunday the first weekend of every month (if needed) as our planned downtime window for maintenance updates. We'll always send out planned downtime reminders in case you forget.
Sometimes things don't work out and you need to see other people. We know... it's not you, it's me...
Your data belongs to you.
We love Spondyr and hope you do too. If the sad day comes when Spondyr must be shutdown, we will give you as much advance warning as we can. Even better, we will grant you a free internal-use source code license or open-source the whole enchilada so you can stand-up your own instance of Spondyr's API and avoid service interruptions. We've seen other SaaS providers shutdown after an acquisition and leave their customers stranded-- we won't do that to you!
We also promise to export copies of your historical correspondence and meta data.
Hey, you're awesome, you read the whole thing! Go check out those cute puppies and other fun things on the internet as a reward!
